For those who are not familiar with the area we will have a caravan meeting at the Dairy Queen on the right side of Hwy 290 when you first come into Dripping Springs. Be there by 2:30 if you would like to head out to Rec Plant as part of a group.
-
Proceed south on I-35.
-
Take exit 230 (230a from the south, 230b from the north) onto westbound route
290/71 (the Ben White exit).
-
Continue west on 290 for approximately 16 miles until you reach the town of
Dripping Springs.
-
Go past the first light (approximately .3 miles) and over the small bridge.
-
Immediately after the bridge, make a left on Creek Road (if you reach the
Diamond Shamrock, you've gone too far; turn around and it will be the road
immediately after Diamond Shamrock, on the same side of the road).
-
When you turn off of 290, set your trip odometer to zero.
-
Proceed to the "T" intersection and take a left.
-
When the odometer reaches 2.2 miles, you will come to a fork in the road. Take the left fork onto County Road 220.
-
Continue for 5.7 miles, and watch for the Brangus sign and the cattle guard. The road will
fork again, and you take the right fork onto County Road 198.
-
Go 0.6 miles and make a left at the 3650 mailbox immediately following a big stone fence and
iron gate.
-
Follow the dirt road until you come to the gate, which is the entrance to Recreation Plantation. The gate will
be closed when you get there; you will need to get out of your car, open the
gate, drive through, and be sure to CLOSE THE GATE BEHIND YOU.
-
Keep following the road past the large house on your right and on down to the Greeters Station at the cattle guard.
-
The Greeters will direct you to the lower field where all the action is and will let you know where to park so you can join the festivities.
